THE NEW PANAMA - PANP01
Panama Program 1The history of the Panama Canal goes back almost to the earliest explorers of the Americas. The narrow land bridge between North and South America offers a unique opportunity to create a water passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. This potential was recognized by the earliest colonists of Central America, and schemes for such a canal were floated several times in the subsequent years.
THE EXECUTIVE SPECIAL - PANP02
Panama Program 2 Panama's economy is service-based, heavily weighted toward banking, (in addition to commerce and tourism.) Panama has no Central Bank per se. The absence of a central bank in Panama has created a completely market-driven money supply. Panama's market has also chosen the US dollar as its de facto currency. The country must buy or obtain their dollars by producing or exporting real goods or services; it cannot create money out of thin air. In this way, at least, the system is similar to the old gold standard. Annual inflation in the past 20 years has averaged 1%; the lowest rate of inflation in Latin America. This market-driven system has created an extremely stable macroeconomic environment. Panama is the only country in Latin America that has not experienced a financial collapse or a currency crisis since its independence.
PANAMA POR DENTRO - PANP03
Panama Program 3 The islands of the San Blas Archipelago are strung out along the Caribbean coast of Panama from the Golfo de San Blas nearly all the way to the Colombian border. San Blas is a series of 378 islands of which only 49 are inhabited by the fiercely independent Kuna Indians. Although only a 20-minute plane ride away from Panama City, a trip to the San Blas islands will transport you some centuries into the past.
PANAMA SOL Y PLAYA - PANP04
Panama Program 4 The Playa Blanca Resort is situated on one of the most beautiful white sand beaches on Panamas Pacific Coast. It is about two hours drive away from Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport. This all-inclusive resort offers you a great variety of services and facilities. Most always sunny, The Playa Blanca Resort offers an incredibly long and relaxing white sand beach, excellent service and good food. The hotel complex includes 3 different restaurants and a snack bar.
