DISCOVER CARACAS – VENP01
Venezuela Program 1Located in the valley of the Guaire River along the slopes of Mount Avila’s National Park, at 30’ from the coast. 950 mts above sea level and with an average temp all year-round of 20ºC (76ºF) inhabited by around 6 million people. A Cosmopolitan city with important financial and commercial area, cultural activities, night-life, and of course delightful restaurants.
ADVENTURE IN ISLA MARGARITA – VENP02
Venezuela Program 2 45 min flight from Caracas, 45 min from Puerto La Cruz, Margarita Island is strategically located on the Southern Caribbean Sea. With a surface of 930 sq.kms has 244 kms of sea-coast, Margarita is the island with more beaches (wild & quiet) in the Caribbean Sea only surpassed by the giant Cuba. Its climate, being typical of the tropic, is tepid and windy, with temperate at 25-30ºC (78-86ºF). Margarita records: El Yake beach is considered between top-3 places in the world for windsurfing with periodically international competitions; 2 National Parks and 3 National Nature Reserve.
MARACAIBO & CORO – VENP03
Venezuela Program 3 Maracaibo is today the country’s largest urban centre after Caracas, and the most important port of Venezuela. Although the region was explored as early as 1499 and Maracaibo was founded in 1574, the town only really began to grow in the 18th century as the result of trade with the Netherlands Antilles. Maracaibo is probably the only city in Venezuela where you can still see local Amerindians (Goajiros and Yukpas) in their native outfit, and sometimes with their faces painted with a dark pigment. Maracaibo sits on the strait linking Lago de Maracaibo with Golf of the Venezuela; the lake with (5,019 miles²) is the biggest in the South America.
MERIDA – VENP04
Venezuela Program 4 A One hour flight from Caracas we find the northern end of the great Andean Chain. Under the protection of 8 big National Parks and 3 National Natural Monuments and the jealous care of it inhabitants the Venezuelan Andes are the most popular nature & adventure tours destination, offering everything from lush tropical rainforests passing by cloudy forests to permanent snow (locally called Páramos). Anthropologically the mountains, and in general the Andes region, are dotted with small towns whose inhabitants continue the is old the agriculture traditions of their predecessors: the Prehispanic Timoto-Cuica Amerindians. ANGEL FALLS – VENP05
Venezuela Program 5 Canaima’s giant National Park of 3 millions hectares, same area as Switzerland, located on the Table-Top mountain (“Tepuy” in Pemon’s indian language) region of Venezuela from 450 mts to 2810 mts at worldwide famous “crystal-mountain” Roraima-Tepuy, the oldest world formation: 2 billions years old (Pre-Cambrian Era). Inside the largest waterfalls in the world, Angels falls. Canaima’s lake is ideal for simultaneously resting, swimming and enjoying the jungle. Local canoes will take you on a scenic boat ride on the reddish coloured waters of the lake and near by rivers.
